ITM STARTS SEARCH FOR NEW ICARUS LEADERSHIP

Updated: 19-01-2010

Head of Sustainability to Roll Out European Programme

The Institute of Travel & Meetings (ITM) UK & Ireland has today announced that it is about to issue a Request For Proposal (RFP) for a new "Head of Sustainability" to support the roll out of ICARUS across Europe as part of its appointment to manage NBTA Europe.

The association is inviting all interested parties to submit proposals via a formal RFP process to ensure that the decision process remains open and impartial and to encourage potential contractors it may not yet have considered.

The role will support the ICARUS Chairman, Mark Avery, in leading the ICARUS Advisory Group and Supplier Committee to widen the project across Europe and to provide more in depth coverage of all three CSR areas, rather than the existing focus on environment. In addition, the new appointment will revise the supplier award and accreditation process to align it with a more European and potentially global project roll-out.

Speaking about the search, Mark Avery said, "This is a key role for ICARUS, ITM and NBTA Europe. The right person will allow ICARUS to flourish to its true potential and reap all the rewards of having led the existing team to that point. It is a great opportunity for any individual passionate about corporate responsibility in our sector."

ITM is asking for all parties to register their interest as soon as possible with Paul Tilstone, ITM CEO and MD of NBTA Europe, as the response deadline to the RFP is scheduled for 12th February 2010.

Those contacting paul.tilstone@itm.org.uk will receive the full RFP on or after January 22nd.
